Vivianite is a rare hydrated iron phosphate mineral that often forms in waterlogged, oxygen poor environments, including ancient peat bogs, clay deposits and even around buried bones in archaeological sites. Because of this unusual habit of growing in and around human and animal remains, it's nicknamed the "corpse crystal." 

Freshly formed Vivianite is often colourless or pale green but as it's exposed to light it naturally transforms into beautiful shades of blue, teal and deep green, making every specimen unique. People are drawn to Vivianite for its association with transformation, shadow work, intuition and personal growth.
